Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez III

The world is awaiting for the trilogy-ender between the "Pambansang Kamao" Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Juan Manuel "El Dinamita" Marquez. I know that you already have purchased your ticket from your fave resto to reserve a seat to pamper yourself this Sunday, November 13. Manny Pacquiao started his training pretty much earlier compared to what he prepared during the Margarito and Mosley fights where Manny spend 7 weeks of training. Nobody knows why but some spectators said that he wanted to beat Marquez so bad to end this trilogy the way he wanted. However, its the same thing with Juan Manuel Marquez who if you haven't noticed, gain some pounds during his arrival at Las Vegas, Nevada. Some commentators have said that being bigger Marquez will sacrifice his speed. Though a lot of people are confirming that any boxer can be ferocious, fast and strong but definitely, Manny Pacquiao is always faster, stronger and have the agility like no one but himsel

Baby Macie Hope was Born Again

When the couple Chad and Keri McCartney refer to their daughter Macie Hope as Born Again, they were not referring to the religion. Macie Hope was born literally twice, the difference of her birth was 3 months. Confused? Yeah, I got that when I read her story, and it is really fascinating as well as amazing as a lot of people, especially the couple 'dubbed' this as indeed a miracle. During Keri's six month's pregnancy, the doctors of Texas Children Hospital took the tiny fetus from her womb to remove a tumor. If the operation will not be done, the tumor will kill Baby Macie before she was born. The operation was indeed remarkable, after another 3 months, Baby Macie Hope was born again. May 3, 2008 to be exact, the world welcomes a healthy baby girl. “We were very, very fortunate. It really turned out perfectly.” Words were also amazing to hear being said by Dr. Darrell Cass. He is the fetal surgeon who led the team that performed a surgery that has been successfull

Philippines is Ranked 8th on Gender Equality

If you're still wondering which is more aggressive, more powerful and more influential between men and women, ask yourself again. A lot of things men think they can do better than women, thinking that they can do things more than what women can. And some men think that they can do things women cannot. Believe me, women also think the same. There were things only women can do, and you can't do anything about that. According to an international study, placing 8th worldwide and number one in Asia, the Philippines improved its ranking in gender equality. Based on their national gender gaps on economic, political, education- and health-based criteria, the World Economic Forum ranked 135 countries. On a scale of 0 as inequality and 1 as equality, the country got a perfect score of 1 in educational attainment and health and survival, according to its Global Gender Gap 2011 report. Girlfriend 5.0 Upgrade to Wife 1.0

I am browsing the net for a while now and one letter just caught my attention. It's not really something to inspire you but rather it will strike you odd, or it's just me. It's an open letter from a "troubled user" to the "tech support team". Read on ;-) Dear Tech Support Team, Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child-processes that took up a lot of space and valuable resources... In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities. Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, PlayBall 5.0, BeerWithBuddies 7.5, and Outings 3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0, but the 'uninstall' doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help! Thanks, "

2 Year Old Child Ran Over Twice in China

It's all over the news, a video was uploaded in the internet showing a child was ran over by two vehicles and ignored by civilians. The video were taken from their local CCTV. It took a while before a concerned citizen rush the poor child into the hospital but unfortunately, the child was declared brain dead. When the video was presented to the media, there were a lot of questions, actually a lot of so angry questions were thrown. First, why does the first vehicle didn't stop when obviously, the driver noticed that he might have hit something? Why does the second vehicle didn't manage to stop knowing that there was a bloody child lying on the road? Why does the heartless passerby ignored the kid and seems to be of no care whatsoever? Why does the parents leave their child unattended like that loitering on the road considering that the child is only 2 years old? Finally, does Chinese people have no sense of humane responsibility? This video is probably the most disturbin

Be Proud to be a Filipino

There's nothing to be ashamed of being a Filipino. If you ask me, many people would likely to agree with me when I say we Filipinos can adapt in almost all kinds of environment and we can endure whatever hardships it is that nature and God knows what else is trying to test us. Compared to other nationalities, we Filipinos are stronger facing any tragedy, we always keep a smile amidst any calamities that came pounding the limits of our faith. We keep our chin up telling the world that we are proud to be what we are, Filipino. Manny Paquiao, Corazon Aquino, Charize Pempengco, Arnel Pineda, Rolando del Rosario Mendoza just to name a few reasons why we Filipinos should be more proud for ourselves. Okay, you can exclude the last ;-) Hongkong will not find it appropriate. Though as we research on more reasons why we Filipinos should be proud, this article from the middle east caught our attention. The title itself says it all: Imagine a World without Filipinos It is written by S

Philippines' Superman Herbert Chavez

Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Astro Boy, Robin, X-Men even Captain Barbel have their own share of wisdom being a super hero. For a 35 year old Herbert Chavez, being like Superman is understatement. I know that all of us as a kid idolized someone or anyone who claimed themselves superhero. Myself in particular as a kid believed that someday, I will be like one of the Thundercats, maybe one lion from Voltron or Steve of the Voltes 5. I don't even know why I say that being no relevance on this article. My apologies, hope you're still reading this ;-) Meet Herbert Chavez, a self-professed pageant trainer, who happens to own 2 costume stores is a 35 year old native of Calamba, Laguna. He admits that he is really a fan, actually his words were "addicted" to both Darna and Superman himself. Now, he's about to get famous. Being fond of the Superman, for Herbert started way back when he is around 5 or six years old. Watching movies of his idol 'The Man of Steel'

New 7 Wonders of the World

There had been a voting session being held as to what will complete the New 7 Wonders of the World. As of today October 10, 2011, organizers told the voting public that the deadline of sending of votes is until November 11, 2011 (11-11-11). In the Philippines, we are pushing one of our very own wonder which is located at Puerto Prinsesa in Palawan. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world's longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing rig

Hanamichi Sakuragi: In Real Life

I am not that young, though I am not that old to have watched the Manga Series Slum Dunk. A lot of people is being fascinated with the game of basketball. Almost everyone knows how to play the game. Maybe, just maybe, NBA really popularized the sports. Apparently, one story caught my attention, and surely, it is really worth to tell ;-) Slam Dunk (スラムダンク Suramu Danku?) is a sports-themed manga series written by Takehiko Inoue about a basketball team from Shōhoku High School. It was first serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in Japan from 1990 to 1996 and had also been adapted into an anime series by Toei Animation which had been broadcast worldwide, enjoying much popularity particularly in Japan, several other Asian countries and Europe. Inoue later used basketball as a central theme in two subsequent manga titles: Buzzer Beater and Real. In 2010, Inoue received special commendations from the Japan Basketball Association for helping popularize basketball in Japan.

Bronson Staker: A True Story, A Miracle

I came across a story that for me, is really worth to share. This is about an ordinary boy, an ordinary 16-month little boy who just wanted to play along with his brother, sister and his parents. There was nothing so extra ordinary about him until an incident. An incident that will prove miracles do happen, this is his story... Bronson Staker is a typical 16-month-old — which is to say, he wasn’t interested in what Mom and Dad were talking about with a stranger. Bronson was far more interested in fussing and squirming and grabbing his father’s cell phone and pretending to talk into it and doing all the delightful things that toddlers do. None of this would be remarkable except for one fact: January 30, 2010, Bronson was dead. That is not an overstatement. Bronson is not a a child who briefly lost consciousness after choking on a piece of candy. There’s no other way to describe his condition other than that one uncompromising word: dead. Bronson’s mother, Sara Staker, had bee
