The Most Expensive Coin in the World: The Flowing Hair

If you consider yourself a Numismatist, one who is fond of collecting Coins, you will wonder how much a certain Coin will be sold and on what Era will it come from.  The most valuable coin in the world, as of this date, 2nd quarter of 2021, is set to go on auction in Las Vegas, and experts say it could fetch upward of $10 million.  In 1791, following a study by Alexander Hamilton, Congress passed a joint resolution calling for the establishment of a national mint. Later that year, in his third State of the Union address, President George Washington urged Congress to provide for a mint, which was officially authorized by the Coinage Act of 1792. Despite the authorization, silver and gold coins were not struck until 1794. The Flowing Hair dollar, designed by Robert Scot, was initially produced in 1794, and again in 1795. In October 1795 the design was replaced by the Draped Bust dollar.  Dated to 1794, the rare silver dollar is thought to be one of the first, if not the very first, coins

Jessica Cox: Pilot, Believer, Motivator and Speaker

When I was younger, well, so much younger than today, say 30 years younger ;-) I do have an ambition to one day fly a plane on my own ;-) With all the other factors that took effect on my life, let’s just say sh*t happens to people! Needless to say, that ambition to fly didn’t happen… Let’s move on!!! I would like you to meet Jessica Cox, she’s not just one hell of a pilot, yes folks, she is a licensed pilot and her story is just amazing… Her story is really worth to tell… At a hospital in Sierra Vista, Arizona on February 2, 1983, a baby came into this world without arms as a result of a rare birth defect. Everyone who was there that day recalls their emotions of helplessness when they first saw little Jessica. Her mother Inez was especially devastated, who was overwrought. Who would take care of this child as she grew to become an adult, and who would love her? What kind of life could she have without the ability to do even the most basic things like eat or hold a phone

What Causes Myterious Sounds All Over the World

There were a lot of rumors spreading across the internet saying that a lot of people are hearing strange sounds and some say that there’s so loud noise that even set off car alarms. Sometimes they describe it as a hum or low rumble; other times it’s a whine, thump, or even a melody. Often the sounds have been recorded and posted online, fueling rumors and conspiracy theories. According to Wiki, the Hum is a phenomenon, or collection of phenomena, involving a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming, rumbling, or droning noise not audible to all people. Hums have been widely reported by national media in the UK and the United States. The Hum is sometimes prefixed with the name of a locality where the problem has been particularly publicized: e.g., the "Bristol Hum", the "Taos Hum", or the "Bondi Hum". Data from a Taos Hum study suggests that a minimum of two percent and perhaps as many as 11 percent of the population could detect the Taos Hum and

The Golden Rice and It's Health Benefits

When I first heard the idea, I admit, I was a bit curious and confused at the same time. First thing is, why is it orange in colour? The other thing is, how in the world they created a golden rice? According to Wiki, by definition, Golden rice is a variety of Oryza sativa rice produced through genetic engineering to biosynthesize beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, in the edible parts of rice. The research was conducted with the goal of producing a fortified food to be grown and consumed in areas with a shortage of dietary vitamin A, a deficiency which is estimated to kill 670,000 children under 5 each year. By the addition of three beta-carotene biosynthesis genes, Golden Rice differs from its parental strain. In the year 2000, the scientific details of the rice were first published in Science, the product of an eight-year project by Ingo Potrykus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and Peter Beyer of the University of Freiburg. Golden rice was considered a signific
