The world is awaiting for the trilogy-ender between the "Pambansang Kamao" Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Juan Manuel "El Dinamita" Marquez. I know that you already have purchased your ticket from your fave resto to reserve a seat to pamper yourself this Sunday, November 13.
Manny Pacquiao started his training pretty much earlier compared to what he prepared during the Margarito and Mosley fights where Manny spend 7 weeks of training. Nobody knows why but some spectators said that he wanted to beat Marquez so bad to end this trilogy the way he wanted.
However, its the same thing with Juan Manuel Marquez who if you haven't noticed, gain some pounds during his arrival at Las Vegas, Nevada. Some commentators have said that being bigger Marquez will sacrifice his speed. Though a lot of people are confirming that any boxer can be ferocious, fast and strong but definitely, Manny Pacquiao is always faster, stronger and have the agility like no one but himself. So how can Juan Manuel Marquez beat Manny Pacquiao? Juan Manuel Marquez of all boxer who fight Manny Pacquiao should know the explosive left hand of his opponent, he faced that power punch twice. Now, Manny Pacquiao have the same strength on both fists. So Juan Manuel Marquez is training the hardest, the longest and pushing his limits for this fight because he knows, there is no turning back. There would be no tomorrow for the "El Dinamita".
During their first bout around 2004, judges decided it for a draw although Juan Manuel Marquez falls 3 times which considered knockout during the early stage of the fight. Both boxers were too eager to win. As the bout goes on, you will be amazed how Juan Manuel Marquez throws his counter punches and almost knockout Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao is just hardened by his training and didn't fall.
On their 2nd bout dated last 2008, the judges decided that Manny Pacquiao should be the winner of this fight. It was the 3rd round knockout which decided the fight.
Today, as both parties trying everything to prepare for the trilogy-ender, both camps have their claims why they should win this fight. Manny Pacquiao is not a trash talker, though if there's a reason to dislike his opponent, well let's not talk about Mayweather Jr. here, it would be for his WBO welterweight title fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday (HBO pay-per-view, 9 p.m. ET) at MGM Grand.
When they meet here in the Philippines, Juan Manuel Marquez tries to hand down T-shirts saying that he beats Manny Pacquiao twice. Did Manny Pacquiao trash talk about this? "I'm not angry at Marquez; it's his freedom to do that," Pacquiao said before news conference last Wednesday, November 9. "He's my friend, but once we get inside the ring, we have business to do. I want to be an example (of) a good fighter, not a trash-talker." Manny Pacquiao is ferocious in the ring but so nice when off gloves.
When Freddie Roach was interviewed, of course its another story, "I think it was a slap in the face to Manny that (Marquez) went to the Philippines and tried to give out T-shirts that said he beat Manny twice and tried to get Manny's countrymen against him," Roach exclaims on the same date. "And saying that he was robbed. They were good close fights, but there were no robberies in my mind. Yeah, it was a slap in the face to Manny. And Mayweather, by the accusations he's made, I don't think Manny likes him too much, either."
If you remember when Juan Manuel Marquez fights Mayweather Jr., he's a bit slow due to his additional weight, they fought on a 147 pounds weight limit. Marquez is now 38 years old and this fight is on a 144 pounds weight limit. Marquez both wins his last two fights but on a 135 and 140 pounds weight limit.
Marquez's new strength coach, Angel Hernandez, has a history of being involved with performance-enhancing drugs and had to defend himself on HBO's third installment of 24/7: Pacquiao vs. Marquez. Some questions if Marquez uses the same as he bloated out during his arrival on Las Vegas, Nevada.
Marquez, asked about Hernandez on Wednesday, and he said, "I want to make a clean fight. I've done clean preparation for this fight, like I have always done."
However, Roach thinks that a bulked-up Marquez, one of the great ring tacticians and counterpunchers of this era, plays right into Pacquiao's hands.
According to Roach, "With all the muscle Marquez has put on, I don't think he wants to be the counterpuncher in this fight. He tells me he's going to use his strength, and the only way you use your strength is to throw punches. I think he's going to come out fast, and I don't think he's going to be counterpunching. That will fall into our hands very well though."
Some have quoted that this fight is just a preparation for Pacquiao-Mayweather fight which is due on May, 2012. Everybody knows who will win this match, they all just want to witness the end of the trilogy.
How about you? At what round are you betting your money at? I'm at six round if you ask me!
Cheerio!
